Miles Construction Completes New Office for Ormat Technologies
Miles Construction, a general contracting firm based in Carson City, Nevada, recently completed a 45,167-square-foot office for Ormat Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:ORA), a global renewable energy company whose U.S. headquarters are located in Reno, Nevada. Construction on improvements to the building, located at 6884 Sierra Center Parkway, were completed in seven months. Miles Construction partnered with Ormat, One Studio Architecture & Interior Design, Cresa Project Management, and HB Workplaces to complete the project.
Ormat Technologies’ new office provides increased capacity for the growing company while consolidating multiple offices under one roof. The space includes 46 private offices, a board room, two large conference rooms, seven medium conference rooms, one human resources conference room, two workshop areas, a lounge area, a reception area, exterior pavilions and seating, and 20,000 square feet of open office workspace. The office features Falkbuilt modular wall systems throughout as well as a “heart area,” a common gathering space in the center of the building that serves as a focal point.
The cutting-edge improvements for the space include 3,000 square feet of decorative Armstrong Woodworks grill ceilings and two moss-covered walls designed and installed by MonkeyCat Studios. New, controlled LED lighting throughout the space utilizes daylight harvesting to maintain natural light, and the space features operable full glass partitions. The space houses Ormat Technologies’ approximately 200 employees in Reno.
